I am recruiting for two Ph.D. positions in my isotope biogeochemistry group at McGill University, both starting in January 2023: (1) for a project studying the biogeochemistry of methane in the permafrost active layer in northern Canada, including measurements of methane clumped isotopes (link to ad), co-supervised by Josué Jautzy of the Geological Survey of Canada; and (2) for a project identifying sources and sinks of atmospheric greenhouse gases (CH4 and CO2) in the Montreal metropolitan region using multiple isotopic signatures (link to ad).

For both projects the ideal candidate will have an M.Sc. degree and prior research experience in isotope geochemistry, but we will consider strong applicants who don’t meet those criteria. Interested applicants should send a single pdf file as an e-mail attachment, containing (a) a letter of application with research interests, (b) a CV, and (c) names and contact information of three references, by June 15th 2022.

Feel free to reach out to me with questions about either opportunity.
